Black GI's who served in the Vietnam War were no longer the sweet young boys their mothers remembered them to be upon return. In a matter of speaking they became holograms that often glitch. They were no longer displaying the innocence they once had in its fulness, only mere glimpses of their authentic humanity buried deep within from the war.
